French bread pizzas are a fun family meal, which the children can help make. It's also a great way to use up left over tomato-based pasta sauce. This simple recipe uses pepperoni but why not try tuna, ham, pineapple, chicken, avocado or different cheeses? The topping choice is endless.


Heat oven to 190C/170C fan/gas 5.

Halve the three slices of Gros Pain lengthways.

Mix the diced peppers, sweetcorn and 75g of the grated cheddar.

Put the bread slices on a baking tray, spread each with 1 tbsp tomato purée, add the topping and pepperoni slices, then sprinkle with the remaining grated cheddar. Bake for 12 mins until melting and golden.


1 Vienna Gros Pain, cut into thirds

1 red pepper, diced

1 green pepper, diced

198g can sweetcorn, drained

200g sliced pepperoni

100g grated cheddar
1 tbsp tomato purée
